Camps & Clinics

JIBC Training Camps & Clinics provide the best opportunity on JI to develop & enhance your 7-12 year old player’s baseball abilities - and we have a lot of fun too!

Our training is based on the American Developmental Model by USA Baseball.

We are currently focused on 7-12 year old development, aka Stage 2: Discover:

Basic baseball skills are being fostered and in some cases honed.

Athletic movement should become more advanced as speed, agility, balance and general coordination all improve.

Athletes should be in an environment where they learn to be motivated to succeed, while experiencing positive social development amongst teammates and competitors.

Sports sampling and informal or deliberate play continue to promote well-roundedness.

Injury awareness, including arm care should be present for the athlete, their coach, and their parents.

The Battery - Pitchers & Catchers

Establish a developmental foundation for both your Physical & Mental game.

Our Pitching & Catching Instructors are bone fide ballers who have tons of wisdom to impart when teaching both the mental & physical game required to be on the mound or behind the plate.

We teach all of our players proper arm protection including strengthening and pitch count - especially our pitchers & catchers.

Defense - Infield & Outfield

We center these sessions on Baseball IQ, sound fundamentals, & How to Make Outs.

On field IQ is half the game for good defenses - we teach fundamentals & techniques too, but if you know what to do with the ball before its hit- you are more likely to make outs.

We teach our kids to play on their toes, attack baseballs and talk to one another on the field.

Offense - Hitting & Base Running

These session are all about good At Bats, On Base Percentage, & How to Score Runs.

When we coach hitters- it is all about bat speed, bat-to-ball skills (smash factor), and swing decision- batters box IQ. We train approach & technique to produce ‘good ABs’ & increase player’s OBP .

We take an aggressive “next base mentality” when on the basepaths and educate our players on how to properly run bases, steal, & slide so they can score more runs.
